I couldn’t believe that another month has passed and summer in the Philippines is about to end. April has started with a bang–temperature in Manila has reached its peak at 36 degrees and the scorching heat has even affected my health. Typical for girls with asthma–we get attacks on extreme weather conditions.
Now that I’m fully recovered, I joined my family in a day trip to Cristina Villas Mountain Resort in Taktak Road, Antipolo.
Swimming has been one of the best exercises for someone like me (who have weak lungs) so I immediately jumped in the car when they told me we’re going to this resort. Plus, I got so excited that I’ll finally get to bond with my siblings after a long time.
How to Get There?
If you are planning to go there using a private vehicle like we did, you can use the Waze app or Google Map as guide. These smart phone apps will make it easier for you to explore places you haven’t been to before. You can also get directions here.
If you are going there through public transport, you can ride a jeep to Robinson’s Antipolo, then a tricycle going to Taktak Road where Hinulugang Taktak can also be found. Along the road, you’ll see signs going to the resort. But if I were to take public transport I’d choose to just walk toward the resort from the Taktak road since the resort is located up the hill.
Since we only paid for the day tour, we didn’t check in to their hotel. But I assure you that their cottages, gazebos, and pavilion rentals are worth it. We have chosen a cottage that has a loft on top and it’s actually big enough for a family of six.
What I Love about the Place?
If you want a quick escape from the bustling city without going too far, this resort is probably perfect for you. The weather is cool over there and it’s easy to travel going to the resort because of the paved roads.
Compared to other public resorts, the pools are not crowded. I was able to complete laps from end to end without any distractions. There are also life guards everywhere who prohibit kids from going to 5-6 feet pools without supervision from adults.
Aside from the pools, there are other amenities that will help you relax and bond with your family and friends. They also have volleyball and basketball courts, as well as an obstacle course for teambuildings.
I’ve also noticed that they have a lot of crew who wear decent red polo shirts. Of course with the exception of the life guards who wear swimming attires. I can say that it is a safe resort because life guards are everywhere and they implement strict regulations in swimming. There are medics as well.
The overlooking scene is actually amazing! The environment is also clean, they have nice walls that you can use as background in your OOTD shots, and well-tended landscapes. If you’re wondering, the whole place is really Instagrammable.
Cristina’s public bathrooms (CRs) are one of the spotless I’ve ever seen. They also have plenty of cubicles, which are more than enough for all their guests. Too bad I forgot to take a picture of them because I got too excited capturing photos of the scenery.
Honestly, I couldn’t say anything wrong with the way Cristina Villas Mountain Resort and Hotel was managed because the place is just perfect. I hope I encouraged you to book an accommodation there in the coming days before summer ends!
